Men seem to get a bad rap in the dating world. They are sometimes called players, cheaters and big babies. Now, while there are a percentage of guys out there who are bad boys, there are also some good guys out there looking to meet a nice girl and settle down.
There are actually as many available guys on internet dating sites as there are available women. Maybe we should take a second look and change some of the outdated views that have been imposed upon us.
The majority of men and women want to share their life with someone. They want the benefits of having a loving relationship. It’s not surprising considering the statistics; happily married people live longer than their single counterparts. Men and women reap equal benefits when they share their lives.
They may not be as vocal about falling in love, getting married and settling down. They may not mention their biological clock ticking, but there are guys who still wonder if they will ever meet that special someone to spend the rest of their lives with.
Men may seem to date around longer, but it is because they want to find that special girl. They want the woman who is sexy and turns them on but they also love that friend that they can hang out with and have fun. This combination in a woman takes time to find and won’t be detected until they have spent some quality time getting to know someone.
Most of the single guys I’m friends with know when they’ve met someone they want to marry, and also know the when. Having said that, most of them feel much more comfortable with a secure woman who isn’t hell-bent on racing down the aisle.
This is not to say any woman should stick around after years and years of never knowing if the relationship will go to the next level but there is that balance of being comfortable as the relationship naturally progresses. A long lasting loving relationship more than likely takes a few years to develop and grow.
As always, communication is key. The more you and your date talk, the more you’ll know. And the more you know the easier it will be to decide if this is the guy you want to settle down with.
Though your past experiences with bad boys may make you reluctant to keep an open mind, it’s important to remember that the good guys are out there. Being as open minded as possible to finding him will likely mean that he’ll find you first.
